Jonas Greene is a Vancouver, Washington artist, creating genre-bending pop-rock with powerful rhythms, lush guitars, emotional performance, and honest lyrical explorations of joy, pain, fear, and the indigenous world. Greene started publishing original material on Soundcloud in 2018 and recorded his first EP, The Dark Show, in 2022 at Black Diamond Studios in Portland with help from producer/engineer Alex McDonald, drummer Doug Reichard, and bassist Phil Austin. The EP was released on all major platforms to critical acclaim. Music critic JJ Thayer of Pitch Perfect said the tracks recall Midnight Oil and Jesus Jones.
Growing up in Silverton, OR, Greene had an ideal musical exposure with a classically trained pianist and music teacher grandmother, Beverly Greene, and a father, Michael Greene, whose record collection contained extensive works of western swing, hillbilly, honky tonk, and outlaw country, as well as blues and jazz. He developed guitar and bass chops with help from friends in the high school jazz band and accomplished jazz guitarist Orville Ivie.
Greene spent his young adulthood playing in notable Portland bands, including The Strand, Bent, Vanderbuilte, Sweetride, and Branden Daniel. In addition to his solo work, he is the current guitarist for dark pop artist SHAE Altered. https://www.shaealtered.com/
